Dog of the Month

Yoshi is a beautiful adult Shepherd mix who just loves to have fun! He is both elegant and silly. How is that possible? Well, he's got many distinguished traits of the Shepherd breed. Yoshi has a quick, adept mind, an agile physique that's on the large side; a sweet, intelligent face; and gorgeous looks. But if you've been around Shepherds at all, you know that these traits also include goofy playfulness!

Yoshi is great with other dogs - the more, the merrier, as far as he's concerned. He's a tail-wagging machine when it comes to meet-and-greets with dogs, and he will happily join in the playtime. Add a person into the mix, and he has found his bliss!

Yoshi came to us as a young dog who was a handful. We sent him to our local expert trainer, who taught him how to calm down, focus, and let his true personality shine. And boy, is that shine bright! Yoshi is such a joyful dog. He now absolutely loves to go on walks, and he is good on leash. After the initial excitement period, he settles down and walks like a true gentleman. He's a fairly big guy, with a healthy activity level, so he would make a fantastic running partner. A true inspiration for you to get out there and run with him!

His calm, sweet temperament makes it a pleasure to spend time with him. Yoshi is more than happy to exchange kisses and conversations with his human. He is very trainable, always eager to meet the challenge of behavior tasks. And he loves anything that stimulates his gray matter, especially when it involves interacting with people. He still needs a little work on focusing, but will be a great student of obedience. He has mastered a few simple commands and can only improve.

Yoshi has been at The Ranch far too long. We would love to see him go to a good home where he can truly shine. Help this deserving boy find his forever home. You won't regret it.
