Volunteer of the Month

by Syd Sullins
We are so fortunate to have Nate recently join our volunteer corps! Nate arrived in our area about five months ago and immediately expressed an interest in volunteering. Nate is Sasha’s husband and he often comes with her when she’s working. He has both a huge heart and a strong back! He takes on some of the toughest jobs and never complains! Once I suggest a task to Nate, I know it will be done! And done well. He’s worked on getting our runs safer for our dogs by improving the fencing and eliminating sharp edges. He’s got an eye for aesthetics and came up with a way to camouflage our trash pit. And when we had the fire emergency early in June, he was one of the first on the scene wanting to know what he could do.

And his love of dogs is amazing. He and Sasha always seem to have a foster….or two….or maybe three at their home. He has also volunteered to fly dogs for us - which is a huge help. He’ll be making his first flight in a few weeks to take one of our dogs to her new home in Charlotte.

As a special treat for me, Nate is from my home town of Kansas City. We spend lots of time talking Chiefs football, comparing our favorite barbecue joints and reminiscing.

Thank you Nate for all your hard work and compassion! You’ve been a great addition to The Ranch!
