What Happened toTheo
by Carolyn Cothran
A lot of you have been following what has been happening to our Theo. Well, there has been a lot.
To recap, he was found at our gate with one eye destroyed and the other needing cataract surgery. Thanks to a very generous donor, he was able to have the cataract surgery.
He eventually went into three very loving foster homes at different times. We really wanted to adopt him locally as he wasn’t wild about being in a crate which would be necessary for travel. He is a bit older and had already gone through enough stressful events so a bus or plane ride was not in the cards. We did however, have him stay with Jena, an amazing local dog trainer, to learn to love his crate which would make it safer and easier for him to travel if it came to that.
In the meantime, poor Theo was adopted by a woman who thought she was ready for another dog, but wasn’t. Sadly, Theo was returned to us. We were in the throes of making plans to have him fostered again and due to a very well written Facebook post about him, to our great joy, a local adopter stepped forward and took him.
I went to see him a few days into the latest adoption, and I could tell that he loved his new family! He was calm and happy and loved his new four-legged brother.
This is a very happy ending to a very long and loving story.
