What a Lucky Dog
by Sharon Martin
Hello from Bellingham, Washington. Last month, I visited the Friday Harbor Animal Protection Society shelter and brought Cacho home to his new family. I understand that he was at your shelter for a month (8/1) before I met him, and left from you in Mexico on July 31st. I looked at your site and thought you might like to see some pictures and know what happened to one of the pups who was lucky enough to have known you. Also, I would love to know anything you can tell me about Cacho's history and how he came to you.
Cacho is such a sweet dog, smart and willing to please. He now has a very playful and mature English Setter sister who is teaching him the ropes. He and Stevie are inseparable. He also has long daily walks with Gracie, Max, Curry and Harland. Cacho is very friendly but always respectful, and they have accepted him enthusiastically.
We live in a rural area of Bellingham, near a large lake and wooded park with a nearby trail system and no traffic. At home, he has a large fenced yard to explore with plenty of squirrels to chase, a big front window where he and Stevie keep an eye on the local foot traffic, and a king-sized bed where he sleeps with us. We are a work-in-progress but that is the fun of it. The pictures aren't that great, but he is. A heartfelt thank you. You're doing good work.
