Volunteer of the Month

We have a lot of volunteers who do many things for the Ranch. Some never come out to the shelter but help with social media, or fundraising or many other things. One of our very most unique volunteers is Edward Hellyer.

Edward is very special because he is 9-years old! Edward comes out often on Saturdays when he is finished with his school work and spends time with our dogs. He adores them and his joy shows through every time he works. His mom comes out with him and it is obvious that there is a family affinity for all things canine.

Edward gives every dog the gift of loving children. This gift pays off in a large way. Often when we send dogs north of the border, the rescuers ask us how the dogs do with children. Because we live in a largely retirement community this can often be difficult. Edward is always there to help the dog love kids!
