Dating App for Dogs?

I jokingly call what I do at The Ranch as writing Tinder Profiles (an American networking and online dating app) but for dogs! I go to The Ranch once a week or so and spend time with the dogs. You have no idea the range of personalities they can have. Some are shy, some are outgoing. Some can play fetch with a tennis ball and some just want to cuddle with you. The one thing they all have in common is that they need forever homes.

Writing profiles on the dogs gives potential adopters some initial information. For example, people want to know the size, energy level or behavior of a dog. At The Ranch, we have them all.

Spending one-on-one time with the pups is a very rewarding job. First, I take them for a little walk to see how they do on a leash. Some are better than others but with a little practice they all learn. After that, I take them into the play yard and get to know them. Some respond well to toys, others to treats. They sniff out the hot dogs pieces and biscuits I keep in my pockets for motivation! I run around the yard with them for a bit then sit on the grass and wait for them to come to me. They always do! Even though the runs at The Ranch are large and clean they really enjoy the space of the yard and the individual attention. I often work with between 10-15 dogs on a morning and every time I leave, I think, what a great bunch today.

I am always happy when they are adopted but sometimes a little sad because I get attached. Still NOTHING is better than knowing a dog is in their permanent home. Truly the best thing ever!
