Happy Ever After Update

by Syd Sullins

Some Ranch days are just perfect! We all are thrilled when one of our most loved dogs find a forever home. That happened six years ago when Bill and Melanie Wolski came to The Ranch looking for a companion. One of our long time Ranch residents was our sweet Maggie Mae. Maggie had a bum rear leg because she jumped off a roof when she was a young pup and the limp may have turned many potential adopters away. Maggie had become a bit introverted during all her years at The Ranch and seldom came to the front of her run to greet potential adopters. But when she saw Melanie, her ears perked up and she was at the front of the gate showing her charm - and Melanie fell in love.

Two years later, Bill and Melanie returned to The Ranch and selected two of our most difficult dogs to take home. Because these sisters had a very ornery side to them, they named them Poison Ivy and Whitey Bulgar. Now all three Ranch dogs are oh so happy and much loved. Bill and Melanie recently sent this update:

''By the time you read this, we will be celebrating Maggie's sixth anniversary in her forever home. It was March 27, 2016 when Melanie picked her out, and we took her to her new home.

Since she went on daily painkillers, it's been easier for her to move around, even if she doesn't move much. She has found the easiest ways for her to move around our home and gardens, and which steps are the best for her.

She still eats like a horse and her tail always seems to be wagging. Except for that one leg, she is still very healthy.

We feel so blessed to have had her this long and are so grateful for her love. The two little ones we adopted in 2018 adore her as well.

We are constantly amazed by her spirit. It's been great to have her. Our thanks to The Ranch.''

We so love to receive these types of messages and does all our hearts good to catch up with some of our favorites. Thank you Wolski’s for being such loving pet parents. Above is Poison Ivy, Maggie and Whitey Bulgar lounging in their home.
