The Light of My Life
by Abbey Brown
Evie came to Washington in the summer of 2022 in the middle of a heat wave after a long bus ride from Mexico. When I got her, she slept and recovered, and then slipped into her new life easily. At first not a lover of the drizzly Pacific Northwest winter, but she adapted like a champ (though she still loves to bake in the sun). She is smart, sweet, and very opinionated. Watching her become more and more comfortable and silly over time has been a complete joy.
Evie is the best combination of calm and active. She quietly keeps me company while I work from home but is always game for a walk in our neighborhood or hike in the mountains. Her favorite thing is to go into a field where she can pounce in the grass and hunt rabbits.
You won't meet a more friendly and sweet dog. So many people tell me how lucky I am, and don't I know it. I couldn’t ask for a better dog. She is the light of my life!
