Dog of the Month

by Syd Sullins

This month we are featuring our handsome Reed as Ranch dog of the month. He’s a one-year-old lab mix and weighs 30 pounds.

Reed came to The Ranch two months ago after a rescuer in Chapala asked us to help her with a few of her many dogs as she was overwhelmed. Poor Reed, when we first met him, he was so skinny that his hip bones were protruding. He also was very nervous around people. We are often amazed how quickly a dog can go from frightened and untrusting to a total love bug. That was the case with Reed.

After only a week he began to welcome visits from our volunteers. He is sharing a room with smaller pups and they all get along beautifully. Reed is a patient soul as he deals with these younger puppies. For a young dog, he’s very mellow and would be a great companion.

It’s hard to spend time with Reed and not be impressed with his beautiful golden eyes and his gentle nature. I am sure the perfect family is waiting for him and will be thrilled to add this beauty to their family.

If you’d like to meet him or receive more information on this beauty, please contact us.
