New Faces
by Syd Sullins
We’re excited to introduce you to our new Ranch team members.
Alexa started working for us several months ago on a temporary basis. We were so pleased with her performance, that we offered her a permanent position. It has been exciting watching her get comfortable in this job and with us. She initially seemed to be very quiet and a bit unsure in the runs, but she soon adapted and has become an excellent addition. She is very observant about possible issues with the dogs and doesn’t hesitate to point out potential concerns. She’s very comfortable giving first aid and vaccinations.
Ramon started working with us soon after Alexa came on board. We love his maturity and reliability. He doesn’t hesitate to tackle our bigger jobs and is familiar with equipment like a chain saw and weed eater and helps coach the other staff. He’s fluent in English so that’s always helpful!
Victor is a recent hire. He quickly showed us that he’s a huge animal lover and a great employee. He has an interest in the medical side of this job and he partners with Alexa to ensure the dogs get required medical care. He works another job at the San Antonio Hospital and goes to that job after leaving The Ranch. Victor recently worked in Dubai for 18 months and while there, he taught himself English.
Alejandro is our newest addition to the staff. He’s Alexa’s husband. He would like to eventually find a full-time work as he has a family to support but we’re happy to have him with us in the meantime. Alejandro is a self starter and never hesitates to be up front and open with us.
We’ve loved watching how each of these new staff members are so supportive of each other and work together so well. They’re also quick to offer their help if they see any of us seniors struggling to leash a dog or exit a kennel. Our goal has always been to have a team of staff members in place that can work independently. We believe we’ve definitely achieved this goal with this amazing group of staffers!
