Dog of the Month

by Syd Sullins

Our Manchas, like most Ranch dogs, has quite a story to tell. For most of our dogs, we knew little about their early lives but that's not true for Manchas. Manchas and five litter mates were found in an arroyo when they were only a few weeks old. All six of those pups were extremely traumatized and unwilling to trust. A wonderful Mexican rescuer took the pups into her home and cared for them until they were about four months old. At that point, she was just so overwhelmed that she asked for our help.

That was over four years ago. During that time, one by one his litter mates blossomed with the love that The Ranch hands were showing them and found homes. Manchas was the slowest to trust, but now he's fully socialized. Manchas is a beautiful boy who weighs about 40 pounds - a perfect size for many people. He loves his walks and holds his tail up high and prances around The Ranch as if he were a king. He also greets visitors to his run with the sweetest hug - not overwhelming, but just enough to show you that he is happy to see you. With his spotted coat, he is really a stunning dog.

Manchas has more than served his time at The Ranch and is so ready for a forever, loving home. I know that he wouldn't disappoint and would reward his adopters with tons of love and loyalty. He's almost five years old - let's give him the happy life he deserves.

If you’d like to meet this beautiful dog or any of the other nearly 100 dogs at The Ranch, please contact us.
