Best Friends Meet For First Time

I met my best friend recently, Mickey, my lab mix sweetheart. I always wanted to adopt a dog; a rescue dog for sure. I also knew it was a big responsibility, so I waited years to do it and recently felt it was time. I have been browsing Petfinder over the last year, serious looking to adopt. I saw Mickey’s picture and profile and he stayed in my mind for 2-3 weeks. Finally I decided to inquire about him and really fell in love!

He was at The Ranch dog shelter in Mexico. The people there took good care of him. They gave me news about Mickey regularly and sent me pics and videos. (Thank you Syd). He arrived in Montreal on February 11, with flight angel, Carolyn Cothran, and a few other dogs.

As I opened his cage, he instantly started licking and leaning on me affectionately. We bonded quickly. Ever since, we have had a nice routine getting to know each other. I’m learning about his personality and he is a fast learner! How could I not love this smart, playful, cuddly and affectionate dog? He is almost perfect, we just need to work a bit on his nibbling.

This much loved 7-month old pup, loves his treats, and the newly discovered dog park.

Adopting Mickey is the best thing I’ve done and I’m looking forward to years of love and fun between us.
