Dog of The Month

Our sweet Leche has quite a story to tell. He came into The Ranch with two other dogs. All appeared to be pekingese mix. One was quite a bit older and he seemed to take the role of daddy and protector to Leche and his brother. All were very frightened. But that's understandable, especially once we learned their story.

Their owner had moved and abandoned them. These little dogs had to fend for themselves. Then someone else moved into the home and wanted them gone. He threatened to "get rid of them". A neighbor, who understood that he was probably going to kill them, intervened and pleaded with us to accept them. How could we say no?

What you need to know about Leche is that he's still a bit timid. He'll play hard to get but once you start petting him and talking sweetly to him, you can see he just wants to be loved.

He's about five years old and weighs 15 pounds. We feel all he wants is to have a home of his own again. He is the perfect age and size for a companion to many in our community.
