Aida’s Transformation

At the Ranch, of course we love all adoption stories, but some are just so special. Especially when the adopter is one of our volunteers.

Sweet Aida is a little moxie chi mix that was brought in with her 6 puppies after being found abandoned. The pups were only about six weeks old upon arrival and Aida was a very protective momma. We just let them be as much as possible so we wouldn’t stress her out. When the pups where 10-weeks old, we thought it was time to take Aida out so we could start socializing the pups without this fretful mom in the background.

When Aida went into a run with other adults, she was a different dog. Sweet, friendly and oh so happy to cuddle. It didn’t take long for her to catch the eye of our volunteer, Deb Bowers. She and her husband, Alan, had lost their older dog about six months prior and I think their hearts were ready for another dog to love.

Deb started spending more of her time with Aida and then a few days later brought out Alan. Aida charmed him as well. Today Aida is now known as Jersey. She snuggles and plays and is even good with cats. The best part is we are going to be able to get regular updates on this sweet momma dog.

Thank you Deb and Alan for giving her such a good home!
